21st Spring Conference of JASID: It will be Virtual, not On-Site

Updated: Apr 16, 2020

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, JASID board members have agreed to cancel the 21st Spring Conference to be held on-site at Ryukoku University. All planned items such as the plenary session, panel proposed by the host University, and the next-day excursion will no longer take place. Instead, we plan to organize a virtual conference where individual papers are posted on the conference website with responses and comments. For poster presentation, we shall continue to discuss the appropriate format and make an announcement. For Organized Panels and Round Table Sessions, we will leave it up to the session chairs to decide whether to conduct the session virtually or move the session to the Fall conference. Depending on the judgement of the session chair, the committee may support a virtual platform for discussion via zoom, etc. For the details, please refer to the upcoming notices in conference website ( and JASID mailing list.

As announced, for those who have been accepted to present should submit their 4 page (short paper) or 16 page (full paper) to the Organizing Committee by May 15, 2020. The exact way of paper submission shall be announced soon in the JASID mailing list. It will probably a file attachment to email submission to Once the papers have actually been submitted, JASID will acknowledge that you have formally presented your paper in the 21st Spring Conference.

We hope all the members to stay safe and healthy under this trying condition. See you all in the Fall Conference to be held in Tsuda College, Tokyo on December 5 and 6, 2020.
